The 2026 5th International Conference on Applied Mechanics and Advanced Materials (ICAMAM 2026) will be held on January 23-25, 2026 in Xi'an, China.
Xi'an, also known as Chang'an and Haojing, is located in the Guanzhong Plain in the middle reaches of the Yellow River in northwestern China. It is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shaanxi Province, the provincial capital of Shaanxi Province, a sub-provincial city, and a megacity. The Xi'an dialect belongs to the Guanzhong sub-dialect of the Central Plains dialect of Northern Mandarin. Xi'an has a history of over 3,100 years since its founding and over 1,100 years as a capital city. It has served as the capital of 13 dynasties, including the Western Zhou, Qin, Western Han, Xin, Eastern Han, Western Jin, Former Zhao, Former Qin, Later Qin, Western Wei, Northern Zhou, Sui, and Tang dynasties.
Xi'an is a key central city in China's western region, a national historical and cultural city, an international comprehensive transportation hub city, a national important research and education center, a western economic center, a science and technology innovation center, an advanced manufacturing base, an international exchange center, and an international tourist destination, as approved by the State Council.
Xi'an was designated as a “World Historical City” by UNESCO in 1981. It is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization and the Chinese nation, the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, and is renowned alongside world-famous ancient cities such as Rome, Athens, and Cairo. It is also the ancient capital with the longest history among China's six ancient capitals, and Chang'an culture is an important component of Chinese culture.
